Villasimius /Sardinia

Villasimius is a beautiful Mediterranean resort, located at the southernmost tip of the south-east coast of Sardinia

The town is a small town of about 3000 inhabitants that in summer welcomes tens of thousands of visitors from all over the world, attracted by its unspoilt sea. The village has a relatively recent life: in previous centuries, charcoal was produced throughout the territory (hence the name of the original town of Carbonara that in 1862 was renamed Villasimius), but for the first half of the last century the main activities were agriculture and fishing and it is only in the 60s that the first real tourists come to our coasts. Since then the fame of Villasimius grows continuously and more and more people choose to spend their holidays on beautiful beaches.

The renowned beaches are an endless sequence of coves, natural gulfs, cliffs, small bays and delicious that make it one of the most famous destinations in the field of Italian and international tourism, thanks to its 700-year-old tourist marina800 berths, with shuttle services to the center of the village.

Villasimius, its territory and the entire sea area in front of its coasts, including islands, constitute the Marine Protected Area of Capo Carbonara, an institution that confirms the beauty and rarity of some species of flora and fauna preserved in our territory.

In addition to the sea and enviable natural beauty, are obviously to emphasize the cultural attractions linked to the Sardinian tradition, such as the festivals and religious festivals, and the archaeological evidence of an ancient history and rich in suggestions that you can know and discover at the local Archaeological Museum.
