Museums, Culture, Archaeology

Sardinia is an island with a millenary history, home to one of the oldest civilizations in the Mediterranean (the Nuragic civilization), which has been crossed over the centuries by the history of all the ancient peoples surrounding: the Phoenicians, the Romans, the Byzantines and the Arabs. It also experienced the birth and development of an autonomous and completely original interregnum (the Age of Judges) during the period of the Maritime Republics and was part of the Catalan-Aragonese Kingdom for four centuries. More recently, the Kingdom of Sardinia has been the fulcrum and the motor at the statutory level of the formation and birth of the Kingdom of Italy first and finally the Italian Republic.

Turning our eyes to our History can also give the dizziness if it is true, as the most recent theories argue, that all the myths of the Ancient Mediterranean – including Atlantis – could be related to our Island. Of this passionate identification with the Lost Continent there would be etymological evidence, finds, geological and literary testimonies so that the question is still open and in the process of deepening.

For those who are not satisfied with the sea and want to know in depth our culture and our territory the opportunities are endless: once landed in Sardinia you will have a new world to explore made of fortified cities, ancient sanctuaries as time, reggie nuraghes and castles, prehistoric caves, medieval architecture, Roman and Phoenician cities…

A new world that has always been here, with all its mysteries and charm, and that, day after day, like a mosaic to be rebuilt, is enriched by new and exciting elements.
